  • SmartSolar MPPT 75-Volt 15 amp: A solar charger gathers energy from your solar panels, and stores it in your batteries, Using the latest, fastest technology, SmartSolar maximises this energy-harvest
  • The SmartSolar charge controller will even recharge a severely depleted battery. It can operate with a battery voltage as low as 0 Volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulphated or otherwise damaged
  • By constantly monitoring the voltage and current output of your solar (PV) panels, MPPT technology ensures that every drop of available power is rinsed out of your panels, and harvested for storage
  • Anytime anywhere remotely control and monitor the extensive features of your SmartSolar MPPT charger with built-in Bluetooth by pairing it with your smartphone or other device via VictronConnect

Smart Solar includes Bluetooth and can connect to Victron Connect App and on the app you can see how much the regulator is charging your batteries.

The “load” function on Victron Smart Solar refers to a feature available in Victron’s solar charge controllers, such as the MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) models. The load function allows you to connect and power DC loads directly from the solar charge controller, utilizing the energy generated by the solar panels.

Here’s how the load function typically works:

  1. Load Connection: The Victron Smart Solar charge controller includes a load output or load terminals. You can connect your DC load, such as lights, fans, or small appliances, to these terminals. The load output is usually designed to provide a regulated DC voltage suitable for powering the connected load.

  2. Load Control: The load function enables you to control the operation of the connected DC load. You can configure settings such as load on/off timing, load output voltage, and load output current limits. This allows you to customize the behavior of the load output based on your specific requirements.

  3. Battery Protection: The load function on Victron Smart Solar charge controllers often includes battery protection features. These features monitor the battery voltage and automatically disconnect the load when the battery reaches a certain low voltage threshold. This helps prevent over-discharge of the battery and protects its longevity.

  4. Load Modes: Depending on the specific model, Victron Smart Solar charge controllers may offer various load modes. Common load modes include manual control, where you can manually switch the load on or off, and timer control, where you can set specific time periods for the load to be active or inactive.

The load function on Victron Smart Solar charge controllers adds versatility and convenience by allowing you to power DC loads directly from the solar system. It maximizes the utilization of solar energy and simplifies the wiring setup, as you can connect the load directly to the charge controller instead of routing it separately through an additional power source.

It’s important to consult the user manual or documentation provided with your specific Victron Smart Solar charge controller to understand the exact details and capabilities of the load function, as different models may have variations in functionality and options.

If you see a MPPT regulator marked with Blue solar that means that it doesn’t have the Bluetooth function and can’t connect to the Victron Connect App. But you can buy an adapter to your Blue Solar MPPT regulator and then get the connectivity and the same features.
